The Clubhouse – Indoor Golf Lounge
Project Overview
K&M Electrical was proud to support the development of The Clubhouse on Grey Street, Tauranga. From the outset, our team worked closely with the project partners and owners to bring this impressive space to life. Our scope of work included the full supply and installation of data, AV, automation, power, lighting, sound, HVAC, and mechanical ventilation systems. We also completed the installation of structural data cabling designed to integrate seamlessly with the venue’s local Wi‑Fi network and Zigbee‑based controls.
Working within an older-style building brought a range of challenges that required quick thinking and efficient on‑site problem‑solving. One of the most significant issues was the limited and inconsistent ceiling space for the installation of HVAC and mechanical ventallation. The existing false‑ceiling cavity varied in height and area, which meant our team had to carry out custom sheet‑metal adjustments on site. We also made targeted alterations in areas where structural beams impacted the performance of the mechanical fresh‑air system. Vents were integrated cleanly into the false ceiling to ensure the HVAC fresh‑air outlets remained discreet while maintaining optimal operation.
Despite these constraints, the team delivered a high‑quality, fully coordinated installation that supports both the functional needs and aesthetic goals of the project. The result is a modern, efficient, and welcoming space that staff and customers can enjoy.
Project Outcomes
- Carried out fresh-air mechanical HVAC installation with new AC installation through the golf bays.
- Carried out work for new lighting and bar illumination design.
- Carried out work to check and set up structured data infrastructure for internet access in the golf areas, and cabling for tee-off units wired to measure the trajectory of the golf ball when hit in the bays, with display on touchscreens and signal transfer through data cabling.
- Installed new emergency lighting throughout the site as required and powered up the fire alarm panel.
- Automated door locks to enable multiple-user access through the door control system.
- Installed HVAC units and diagnosed existing units as faulty and insufficient for operational use.
- Carried out WAP setup in the data cabinet, including connection and programming of the WAP SSID aligned to clubhouse requirements.
- Completed lumen testing of overhead lighting to ensure optimal illumination on the golf tee for user performance when hitting the ball into the screen.
- Adjusted and synchronised on-site audio with overhead speakers and allocated amplifiers to achieve maximum sound and clarity through the customer’s automated entertainment system.
