IQP – Independent Qualified Person
K&M Electrical has IQP registered and qualified electricians that are able to help you to comply with your building warrant of fitness compliance schedule.
What is an IQP?
An Independent Qualified Person (IQP) is a specialist who manages the inspection, maintenance and reporting of integrated systems under the NZ Building Code. The most common system needing an IQP is a building’s emergency lighting system, but other examples include lifts, escalators, automatic doors, and fire detection systems. Inspections, testing and reporting are all necessary as a part of a building’s compliance schedule.
Each system and stage of the building compliance schedule has different requirements depending on the classification of your building and situation. For example, the annual IQP Emergency Lighting inspection requires a ’12A Form’ submission, while the monthly testing requires a logbook to be kept on-site. These building warrant of fitness compliance requirements are very familiar to K&M electricians.
